Post your goals and progress here. Let's help each other stay accountable! Body By You readers- post how many reps you did of the exercise that you were unable to complete for 12 reps during the initial evaluation. Then, after 2 months, post those exercises- the ones that were a bit too tough- and how many reps you managed.

I just finished my first 10 weeks of the program. It is my first true exercise program. I'm very happy I was able to stick with it and not miss any workouts. My only surprise was that I gained 4 pounds during the 10 weeks. It is a decent amount of muscle mass gained. I wish my stomach would have shrunk a little more but my diet wasn't what it should be. Better but not good enough. I wish I would have listened and taken before pics. I'm going to do it for the 1st class workout. I'll take some tomorrow on my off day before I start back.

Anyway, thanks Mark for writing the book. I've always wanted to start but P90x is just too long everyday and all my friends that started it quit within a few weeks and I didn't want to fail. Looking forward to the 1st class program.

Has anyone finished the 1st class that did the basic? Curious as to your results and experiences.

Congrats on making it through your first 10-week program, and kudos to you for sticking with it. I have been using YAYOG for almost 2 years now am going through the Master class for the second time now, and I think that you'll find that if you keep with these exercises that you'll keep improving your strength and modifying the programs to fit your needs. What I really like about these exercises is that I can get a good workout in within 45 minutes, including warmup and cooldown. Since starting with YAYOG, I have seen really good muscular development, but I will also say that I don't have a six-pack by any means. That's pretty much due to the fact that I don't watch everything that I eat. I don't eat terrible, but if I did keep a better watch on what I eat, I feel like I would probably be more lean around the middle.

Mainly I just want to congratulate you and encourage you to continue to choose a healthy lifestyle. You've already got a good start on it!

Hey congratulations! I catch how pleased you are to have finished! I had great results finishing the basic class but those pale in comparison with my first class results and I'm not yet finished (last day of week 8). I'm on a primal diet and that coupled with YAYOG has definitely helped me loose the weight I needed and build up the muscle mass. The best part of it all is that I'm much stronger now. It was one of my initial goals - not to be a wuss anymore!

Looking forward to seeing your pics! Onward and upward to the First Class :!:

Yay newbie!

I'm working my way through the 1st class program now, but it's been a little sporadic due to other sporting activities. I think I'm going to re-start the 1st class program and do it "right" this time.

I wish my stomach had shrunk, too, but like mikhou says, I really didn't eat for fat loss. I can tell there's a ton of ab muscle underneath, but in order to see it, I'd have to work at burning fat and I'm just not focusing on that right now. I also think approaching middle age has something to do with the remaining fat around my middle - I don't lose fat like I did when I was 18!! :lol:

Congratulations Newbie.

I started the basic program of YAYOG in November 2011.
I have completed the basic program and have increased strength, flexibility and stamina and improved body composition greatly.
I did not really concentrate on my way of eating until after 6 to 8 weeks. Once I started to follow the advice in the book, I consistently lost weight without going hungry.
It is still taking me time to train to eat properly as I have a sweet tooth.

At the start of the basic program my push ups were poor and I could only do one properly on the floor.
By the end I was able to do the push up ladders properly on the floor.

I completed the 1st class program about five weeks ago and was able to do 5 pull ups correctly whereas as previously I could do 1 and half.
I did not pass all the elements for the Masters program but I still moved on.
I am now on Week 4 day 4 of the Masters program. I still need to work on my military presses and one-legged squats but I am much, much stronger
than I thought I would ever be!

The program works. My overall fitness has gone up by quite a few notches and when I look in the mirror I can see that my body has changed.
My stomach paunch has gone and I have lost at least three inches of my waist measurement.
I can see that I have stronger shoulders, more developed traps, biceps and triceps,
a defined and toned torso, my quads and hamstrings are toned and calves are well developed.

I have a very long way to go, to get to the Chief class and to be able to do all the exercises that are in that section.
But, hey, it's a process ...

Thanks for all the encouragement everyone. I've never been heavy but also not muscular or fit. I used to do regular amounts of pushups and that was it. While I can do 30+ pushups on their own, the ladders kill me with them. I find myself burning out after getting to 6 or 7. There isn't much rest when pushups only take a second or so each. Ladders of the let me ups are quite a struggle as well.

I hope to get my diet in check for this round as I'm not taking a break and finished my first first class workout today.
