Full Body Program?
I know Mark talks about splitting the program up into push, pull, legs, and core. And he says you can also replicate a standard gym regimine of one body part a day. I was wondering what mark and you guys would think about a full body program 3 or 4 times a week, and if there is any advantages/disadvantages to a full body program. I have am half way through the beginner program and was just wondering this for future cases if I ever wanted to make my own workout for the day. Just asking this out of curiosity and trying to learn

Re: Full Body Program?
Training the entire body 3-4 times per week works well. 3-5 working sets of about 6-12 reps for each movement category, excluding core, is sufficient. Core can be incorporated as needed. Even just one hard set to failure at the end of a workout is enough. I'm currently working on just such a program, based on a more classic training model. I'll write more about it when able.

Thanks Mark, I look foward to trying the full body program, Your book is the most well written exercise book I have ever read. I've always loved working out and your book made me understand everything cleary. I use to work at a gym at the front desk and now see through alot of the bullsh*t that people would come into the gym talking about or buying ,like the "ab rocket" or the crazy body builder no carb diets. I will post before and after pictures once I finish the intermediate program as a testimonial to your book.

I'm interested in your take on this type of program. Just to jog your memory. When you have time.

Re: Full Body Program?
Me too. I've just restarted my 1st Class level from the beginning (had to stop because of severe shoulder pain [now minor shoulder pain]) but feel I would like to incorporate free weight exercises. Not necessarily full body but on the same day as (say) push/pull, do free weight upper body exercises.
For the full body I'm not sure how that fits with your methodology. Currently recovery days are built in to the programme by skipping each major muscle group for at least one day - if adding three or four days of full body where will recovery days come from?

Also interested. Coming from weightlifting for many years. Just completed 10 weeks of beginner program. Great program, enjoyed it, some of it was easy, some of it was very hard. Only issue I had was 5 days a week was very difficult with a demanding job and other interests such as sprinting and mountainbiking. Would like a 3 day program to allow for the other interests while enjoying this great program.
